One application that we can tell you about right now is a business value calculator for the Oswald Companies, one of the nations largest employee-owned brokerage firms.

What Oswald needed was an intuitive, do-it-yourself financial calculator to replace what was traditionally a complex analysis process. Instead of asking their sales staff to wield Arthurian Excel spreadsheets (anvil included) comprised of infinitely complex analysis, Oswald decided a Flash-based self serve sales tool would serve a much broader purpose in the sales process.

PIER built a robust calculation engine that generates many of the financial metrics native to Excel (like NPV, ROI, IRR, and MIRR), but was able to hide a lot of that complexity behind an intuitive RIA interface.
