Chyten Educational Services is comprised of small tutoring centers charged with complex scheduling, accounting, and administrative functions. StudentManager was developed in order to provide each center with the tools it needed while maintaining complete visibility at the corporate level.

At the very core of Chyten's tutoring business is its ability to match students with the ideal tutor in terms of expertise, approach and personality, and then to schedule mutually available time periods over the course of twelve or more consecutive weeks and five locations. Accomplishing this effectively was impossible using off-the-shelf scheduling applications so Pier developed a custom solution that took tutor availability, booked time slots, subjects of expertise, and available locations to produce clearly defined tutor, student, location, and time matches for scheduling. The system has reduced costs associated with scheduling by more than 60%.

Another key barrier to Chyten's growth was the complexity of their accounting systems. Timely billing of customers, tutor compensation, and management of cancelled and late appointments was immensely difficult to track. A custom accounting module that integrates seamlessly with the scheduling module has enabled Chyten to reduce time associated with accounting tasks by over 100% and also reduced the level of skill necessary for administrators. Billing and payroll disputes have been virtually eliminated and a new Chyten location can be up and running with 1 day of training.
